Henry Repeating Arms
The Henry Original H011 is a classic .44-40 WCF lever-action rifle built on Henry's proven toggle-link action—a design that rewards smooth, deliberate shooting and rewards reliability in the field. At 24.5 inches, the barrel strikes a practical balance between handling and velocity, while the 13-round magazine capacity keeps you in the action longer than most traditional lever guns. Weighing 9 pounds, it's substantial enough to shoot smoothly but manageable on a full day afield. This is the rifle for hunters, shooters, and collectors who appreciate authentic American gunmaking and the .44-40's proven track record in lever-action platforms.
The Henry Original combines period-correct aesthetics with functional design. The receiver, buttstock, and hardened brass buttplate reflect the gun's heritage, while the walnut furniture—fancy American walnut, in this case—is both beautiful and durable. Folding ladder rear sights and a blade front sight keep things simple and reliable; no batteries, no electronics, just iron sights that work when you need them. The toggle-link action cycles smooth and positive, and the short throw makes follow-up shots quick and intuitive.
The .44-40 WCF round sits at an interesting intersection of history and practicality. Originally developed for the Winchester 1873 and still loaded by major manufacturers, it remains a capable deer and medium-game cartridge at moderate ranges. If you're drawn to classic calibers, hunting with traditional iron sights, or you simply want a rifle that feels purposeful and built to last, the Henry Original H011 delivers that experience without compromise.
