The Halo Optics XL 600 laser rangefinder is a practical, no-frills optic built to dial in distance on everything from whitetail to steel targets out to 600 yards. With 6x magnification, water-resistant construction, and scan mode for fast target acquisition, it handles the essential job most hunters and shooters need: reliable distance data without the complexity or the price tag of premium units. Whether you're glassing a ridge or confirming range before the shot, this rangefinder delivers straightforward performance for the field.

What sets the XL 600 apart from basic rangefinders is its Angle Intelligence technology, which calculates true horizontal distance regardless of elevation—a game-changer when you're hunting rolling terrain or shooting from elevated positions. That means the distance reading accounts for the actual horizontal span between you and your target, not just the straight-line range. Combined with scan mode (which locks in multiple targets at different distances), you can quickly assess a scenario before committing to a shot.

The unit is water-resistant, so brief exposure to rain or morning dew won't sideline it, and it ships ready to go with a CR2 lithium-ion battery, lanyard, and lens cloth. Accuracy is +/- 1 yard, reliable enough for hunting and range work where precision matters. It's the kind of rangefinder that lets you focus on field craft and marksmanship instead of fussing with settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this rangefinder work for hunting from elevated stands or hillsides?

Yes. The Angle Intelligence feature calculates true horizontal distance based on the angle of elevation or decline, so you'll get an accurate reading for the actual distance to your target even when you're shooting uphill or downhill.

Can I use it to range multiple targets in quick succession?

Yes. Scan mode allows you to lock in and compare the ranges of different targets at various distances, which is useful for quickly assessing a hunting scene or multiple positions on a range.

What comes in the box?

The rangefinder ships with a CR2 lithium-ion battery (ready to install), a lanyard for attachment to your gear, and a lens cloth for cleaning the optics.

How does this perform in poor light or at maximum distance?

The 600-yard maximum range applies to reflective targets. Ranging distance and clarity will vary depending on light conditions and target reflectivity; non-reflective targets will typically range at shorter distances than reflective ones.
