Halo Optics
The Halo Optics CL600 5X laser rangefinder is a straightforward, affordable distance-finding tool built for hunters who want reliable yardage without unnecessary complexity. Whether you're glassing a distant ridge, closing the distance to a stand, or confirming a shot angle, this entry-level rangefinder delivers the core function hunters need: fast, accurate range data. With 5x magnification, scan mode for continuous readouts, and water-resistant construction, the CL600 bridges the gap between budget and reliability.
Ranging accuracy matters in the field, and the CL600 holds to ±1 yard precision. You'll get readings out to 600 yards when aimed at a reflective target—like a rock outcrop or sunlit tree—and up to 300 yards on a standard tree. That's enough distance to confirm holdover on most hunting scenarios without the price tag of premium models. The scan mode feature lets you pan across terrain and watch distances update in real time, useful for picking out specific landmarks or judging whether a ridge line is really as far as it looks.
The design prioritizes usability in rough conditions. Rubber touch points on the grip keep the rangefinder secure even in cold, gloved hands, and the water-resistant body won't fail if you're caught in rain or your pack gets dunked. It runs on two standard AAA batteries—the kind you can grab at any outfitter or truck stop—so you're not stuck hunting for exotic power cells. This is a tool that works when you need it, without fuss or fanfare.
| Magnification | 5x |
| Maximum Range (reflective target) | 600 yards |
| Maximum Range (tree) | 300 yards |
| Accuracy | ±1 yard |
| Water Resistance | Yes |
| Power Source | 2 AAA batteries |
| Warranty | 1 year |
The CL600 will range reflective targets to 600 yards and trees to 300 yards. For typical hunting applications, the 300-yard tree range covers most scenarios where you'll be ranging natural terrain and vegetation.
The rangefinder is water-resistant, meaning it can handle rain and splash without failure. It's not fully waterproof for submersion, but it's built tough enough for field conditions.
The CL600 requires two AAA batteries, which are widely available and easy to swap in the field.
Scan mode allows continuous ranging as you pan across terrain, so you can track distances to multiple points without releasing and re-pressing the range button. It's useful for glassing and comparing yardage across a landscape.
