The Griffin Armament CAM-LOK Barrel Adapter (9/16x24 PI91624) is a quick-detach piston interface designed to streamline suppressor mounting on Browning-style tilt-barrel pistols. If you run a pistol suppressor and want faster, more positive attachment than a legacy direct-thread setup, this QD piston adapter delivers a secure, repeatable mount that speeds up both installation and removal at the range or in the field.

The CAM-LOK system uses a patented universal QD piston attachment with three mounting positions spaced 120 degrees apart, so you can index the suppressor quickly and confidently. The forward taper surface locks firmly in place with the interfacing piston, reducing baffle and end-cap strikes that can degrade accuracy and longevity. Unlike some QD designs, the internal bore geometry is engineered to minimize side concussion and visual disturbance compared to blind-bore alternatives.

Built tough for repeated use, the adapter features coarse threads cut at the top to resist wear and maintain a tight seal through hundreds of attach-detach cycles. The 3/4-inch (19mm) wrench pattern makes installation and maintenance straightforward with standard tools. A QPQ Nitride finish delivers both durability and a clean black appearance that matches modern suppressor aesthetics. Note that this adapter is compatible with Griffin Armament universal QD pistons, which are sold separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pistols is the 9/16x24 CAM-LOK adapter compatible with?

This adapter is designed for Browning-style action (tilt-barrel) pistols with a 9/16x24 threaded muzzle. If your pistol has a different thread pitch, you'll need a different adapter size.

Do I need to buy the QD piston separately?

Yes. The CAM-LOK barrel adapter is compatible with Griffin Armament universal QD pistons, which are sold separately. The adapter itself is the interface that mounts to your barrel.

How does the CAM-LOK system improve on direct-thread suppressors?

CAM-LOK provides faster mounting and removal compared to legacy single-piece direct-thread pistons, and the three indexed mounting positions ensure repeatable, secure alignment. The forward taper lock also reduces baffle and end-cap strikes, which can improve durability.

What tools do I need to install the adapter?

The adapter uses a 3/4-inch (19mm) wrench pattern, so you'll need a socket wrench or similar tool that size for installation and maintenance.
