Great Lakes Firearms
The Great Lakes Firearms AR-15 .223 Wylde 16" Tungsten is a reliable, versatile modern sporting rifle built for shooters who want flexibility without compromise. Chambered in .223 Wylde, this rifle fires both standard .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition, giving you options at the range or in the field. The 16-inch heavy barrel with a 1:8 twist is paired with a carbine-length gas system and M4 feed ramps, delivering consistent performance whether you're running target loads or military surplus rounds. At 6.8 lbs, it's handy enough for practical use while maintaining the accuracy potential that heavier barrels bring to the table.
Built on a 7075 aluminum upper and lower receiver, the Great Lakes is built to last. The 15.25-inch full picatinny rail handguard gives you unlimited mounting options for optics, lights, lasers, or other accessories without the need for bolt-on rails. The Cerakote finish protects the steel components—your choice of either 416R stainless or 4150 CRMOV nitride barrel—against rust and corrosion in wet conditions. A muzzle brake threads on at 1/2 x 28 (designed for 6-degree wrench tightening without Loctite), letting you dial in recoil management or swap for a suppressor. The mil-spec polymer grip and milspec trigger (5.5–6 lb pull) keep controls familiar and reliable.
One 30-round magazine ships with the rifle, and the M4-spec feed ramps ensure reliability with standard AR magazines. There are no iron sights installed, leaving your picatinny rail open for your choice of optic—red dot, LPVO, or magnified scope. This is a no-frills, no-compromise AR-15 that works hard for hunters, sport shooters, and anyone who values a dependable 5.56 platform.
