Great Lakes Firearms
The Great Lakes Firearms AR-15 in .223 Wylde is a versatile, hard-hitting rifle built for shooters who demand flexibility without compromise. Chambered in .223 Wylde, this AR accepts both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition—a genuine advantage if you reload, hunt, or train across different ammo sources. The 16-inch heavy barrel (HBAR) with a 1:8 twist rate delivers consistent accuracy across the full spectrum of .223 and 5.56 loads, making it equally at home on the range, in the field, or as a reliable patrol rifle.
This rifle ships with a stripped upper and lower, a 1-magazine capacity, and comes with one 30-round mag in the box. The receiver is 7075 aluminum, precision-cut for durability and repeatability. The 15.25-inch handguard is full-length Picatinny rail, giving you unlimited optic and accessory mounting real estate. You get a mil-spec polymer grip, a carbine-length gas system with a 0.750 gas block (black oxide), and a muzzle brake threaded 1/2 x 28—designed for 6-degree forward wrench installation without Loctite. The 6.8-pound weight strikes a practical balance: light enough for field work, substantial enough for stable shooting. The mil-spec trigger breaks at 5.5–6 pounds—familiar, predictable, and user-tunable if you decide to upgrade later.
Finished in Cerakote with a Wild Orchid/stainless combo that stands apart from cookie-cutter black rifles, this Great Lakes AR-15 is a no-frills, honest firearm for hunters, competition shooters, and anyone serious about an American-made, semi-automatic rifle platform.
