Great Lakes Firearms
The Great Lakes Firearms AR-10 in .243 Win is a semi-automatic tactical rifle built on a proven modern-sporting-rifle platform and tailored for precision shooting at distance. This 24-inch rifle pairs a stainless steel barrel with a bronze Cerakote finish for a clean, professional look that handles field use without apology. The .243 Winchester cartridge is known for flat trajectory and mild recoil, making it accessible for shooters of varying experience while delivering effective range performance for varmint work, target shooting, and hunting medium game.
The barrel is 416R stainless with 5R rifling and a 1:8 twist rate, threaded at 5/8x24 to accept aftermarket muzzle devices—a muzzle brake is included. The upper and lower receivers are machined from 7075 aluminum, a lightweight and rigid alloy that keeps the overall rifle weight to 9.3 pounds despite the 24-inch tube. The 20-inch full-length Picatinny rail handguard (6061 aluminum) gives you plenty of real estate for optics, lights, and accessories without unnecessary bulk. Standard mil-spec controls—including a 5.5–6 lb trigger and mil-spec polymer grip—keep operation intuitive for anyone familiar with AR-platform rifles.
This rifle ships with one 5-round magazine and is ready to mount an optic and get to the range or field. The .243 Win's ballistic efficiency and modest recoil impulse make this configuration popular with precision shooters and hunters who value accuracy over magazine capacity. If you're after a flat-shooting, low-recoil AR that doesn't compromise on build quality or sight-in flexibility, the Great Lakes Firearms AR-10 in .243 is worth serious consideration.

The barrel is threaded 5/8x24, which is standard for many suppressors and aftermarket muzzle devices. The included brake is designed to be removed and reinstalled without thread-locking compound. You can swap it for a suppressor or other 5/8x24 device as needed, though suppressor purchase and registration follow federal law.
The .243 Winchester is known for flat trajectory, mild recoil, and excellent accuracy at range. It's effective on varmints and medium game, and its modest recoil makes it accessible for shooters working up to larger calibers. It's also popular with precision target shooters because of its inherent accuracy and low-wind deflection at distance.
