Geissele Automatics
The Geissele Automatics AR-15 Super Duty Mod1 5.56x45 complete upper with 12.5" barrel delivers serious capability in a compact, purpose-built package. This isn't an assembly of off-the-shelf parts—every component from the cold hammer-forged barrel to the bolt carrier group is engineered and manufactured by Geissele to work as an integrated system. If you're building a short-range patrol rifle, SBR, or modern sporting rifle that demands reliability and performance out of the box, this upper eliminates the guesswork of sourcing individual components.
The 12.5" barrel is chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 1-7 twist rate, chrome-lined and manganese phosphate-coated for corrosion resistance and longevity. It's paired with a carbine-length gas system and Geissele's Super Compact Gas Block, tuned for reliability even in harsh conditions. The HUXWRX Flash Hider-QD muzzle device is already mounted, keeping a low profile while managing flash signature.
What sets this upper apart is the included Reliability Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group with Geissele's proprietary Stressproof Bolt, made from Carpenter 158+ steel and forged to optimize grain structure—rated for five times the service life of standard mil-spec bolts. Every bolt is high-pressure tested, mag-particle inspected, and nanoweapon-coated. The SMR MK16 rail, fielded by USASOC operators, mounts via a center-aligning tab that eliminates rotation and ensures rock-solid accessory mounting. The Airborne Charging Handle rounds out a complete package ready to accept a lower receiver.
Built at Geissele's North Wales, PA facility to standards that prioritize consistency and durability, this upper is engineered for shooters who refuse to compromise on quality or settle for generic performance.

This is a complete upper assembly. You receive the upper receiver, 12.5" barrel, BCG, bolt, SMR MK16 rail, Super Compact Gas Block, Airborne Charging Handle, and HUXWRX muzzle device. You'll need to pair it with an AR-15 lower receiver to complete the rifle.
Yes. This is a standard AR-15 upper receiver assembly and will mate to any properly functioning AR-15 lower receiver.
The Stressproof Bolt is forged from Carpenter 158+ steel, a material developed in partnership with Carpenter Steel to reduce impurities and improve fatigue resistance. Because it's forged rather than machined, the grain structure is optimized for strength. Geissele rates it for five times the service life of standard mil-spec bolts. Every bolt is high-pressure tested, mag-particle inspected, and nanoweapon coated.
The 12.5" barrel is optimized for short-to-medium range applications. It's ideal for home defense, tactical training, and firearms configured as short-barreled rifles or pistols. For hunting and longer-range work, Geissele offers Super Duty uppers in longer barrel lengths.
