The Gbrs Group Hydra V2 is a dual optic mount purpose-built for the Aimpoint Duty RDS, engineered by operators who understand the real-world challenges of modern duty and tactical use. Unlike conventional mounts that force you to work around gear, the Hydra V2 positions your optic at a 2.91\" centerline—high enough to clear common obstructions like comms headsets, gas masks, and night vision without compromising your shooting position. That elevation keeps your head upright and your spine vertical, so your body stays squared to the threat and your plates stay on target.

Built from 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type 3 Class 2 hard coat anodize finish and stainless steel hardware (clamp bar and fasteners finished with Melonite QPQ protection), the Hydra V2 is designed to handle duty and field use. The mount weighs just 6.1 ounces for the Aimpoint Duty RDS configuration, so it won't add unnecessary bulk to your upper receiver. Installation is straightforward—Gbrs includes long-reach T10 and 3/32" hex keys plus a ¼" drive T25 bit, so you can mount and maintain your optic without hunting for specialized tools.

This is the kind of thinking you'll find throughout Gbrs Group's lineup: solve the problem that exists in the field, not the one that looks good on paper. If you run comms, CBRN gear, or night vision, or if you simply want a more natural shooting position that supports faster target identification and better situational awareness, the Hydra V2 deserves a hard look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Hydra V2 compatible with other Aimpoint models?

The Hydra V2 mount included here is specifically designed for the Aimpoint Duty RDS. Compatibility with other Aimpoint models should be verified before purchase.

What does the 2.91\" centerline height mean for my setup?

The optic centerline—the height of your sight picture above the rail—is 2.91 inches. This elevated position clears most comms headsets, CBRN masks, and night vision devices, so you can maintain your natural shooting posture without removing or shifting gear.

What tools do I need to mount this?

The Hydra V2 comes with everything required for installation: a long-reach T10 key, a long-reach 3/32\" hex key, and a ¼\" drive T25 bit. No additional tools are needed for standard mounting and adjustment.

Will this mount work with night vision or thermal optics mounted on top?

This mount is designed for the Aimpoint Duty RDS. If you plan to stack additional optics above it, verify that your night vision or thermal device is compatible with dual-mount configurations and the 2.91\" centerline height before purchasing.
