Lmt Defense
The LMT Defense Full-Auto Enhanced 5.56mm Bolt Carrier Group is a purpose-built upgrade for shooters who demand reliability under the harshest conditions. Whether you're running a suppressed rifle, short-barrel setup, or pushing rounds through a full-auto platform, this enhanced bolt carrier group is engineered to cycle when standard components falter. LMT's enhanced bolt is the result of decades of small-arms expertise — it's the difference between a rifle that functions and one that performs.
What sets this bolt carrier group apart is its construction. LMT uses a proprietary material that's significantly harder and more durable than conventional bolt steel, and it's also easier to clean after firing — a practical benefit when you're running suppressed or in high-volume shooting sessions. The enhanced bolt features modified locking lugs designed to handle high-pressure, overgassed loads without premature wear or failure. That matters when you're shooting short barrels or in environments where ammunition consistency is a luxury you don't have.
The extraction system is where LMT's engineering really shows. The "lobster tail" extractor uses dual springs, providing both the clamping force needed for reliable extraction and the durability to outlast standard extractors. You get stronger, more consistent extraction across a wider range of loads and conditions, with spring life that won't disappoint. For competitive shooters, military trainers, and serious enthusiasts who can't afford malfunctions, this is a legitimate upgrade.
| Caliber | 5.56×45mm (.223) |
| Type | Full-Auto Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group |
| Brand | LMT Defense |
| Finish | Black |
Yes. While this enhanced bolt carrier group is designed to excel in full-auto, suppressed, and short-barrel applications, it will function reliably in standard semi-automatic rifles as well. You'll gain the durability and reliability benefits regardless of your platform's firing mode.
Suppressed fire increases back-pressure and stress on the bolt carrier group. The LMT enhanced bolt's proprietary material, modified locking lugs, and dual-spring extractor are engineered to handle the additional pressure and extraction demands that come with suppressed shooting — where standard bolts often struggle.
This is a complete bolt carrier group, which includes the carrier, the enhanced bolt, and the dual-spring extractor system. It's a ready-to-install upgrade for any standard AR-platform rifle in 5.56mm.
The dual-spring design provides two critical benefits: stronger and more consistent extraction force across different ammunition, and significantly longer spring life compared to single-spring extractors. This means fewer malfunctions and less frequent maintenance or replacement.
