Forster
The Forster Trimmer Collet for Original Case Trimmer #1 is a precision replacement or additional collet designed for the Forster Original Case Trimmer—the workhorse of serious hand loaders who demand accuracy and versatility in case preparation. This collet uses a Brown and Sharpe type design to grip cases with the tight, consistent concentricity that separates quality reloads from mediocre ones. If you're expanding your trimmer setup or replacing a worn collet, this component pairs with Forster pilots (sold separately) to unlock the full potential of the Original trimmer platform.
Forster's collet system is built around precision: the Brown and Sharpe design holds cases square and true, which matters whether you're trimming case length, deburring case mouths, reaming primer pockets to remove military crimps, turning necks, or even hollow pointing. The collet itself is the foundation of that accuracy. Reloaders who've invested in a Forster Original trimmer already understand the appeal—it's modular, reliable, and far more capable than entry-level alternatives. This collet lets you keep that investment running or add a backup to your bench.
To use this collet, you'll need to pair it with the appropriate Forster pilot for your caliber and operation (pilots sold separately). The trimmer itself can be hand-operated or powered up with the optional Forster Power Adapter (#FPA1000), giving you control over speed and effort based on your workflow. Whether you're processing brass in high volume or fine-tuning each case, the Forster Original system—anchored by this reliable collet—remains a benchmark for reloaders who refuse to compromise on case prep quality.
This collet must be paired with a Forster pilot (sold separately) appropriate for your specific caliber and the operation you're performing. The collet alone holds the case; the pilot supports the case neck during trimming or other operations.
Yes. The Forster Original Case Trimmer can be powered with a drill or power screwdriver by adding the Forster Power Adapter (#FPA1000).
With the appropriate pilot, the trimmer handles case length trimming, case mouth deburring, primer pocket reaming (including removal of military crimps), neck turning, inside neck reaming, and hollow pointing.
