Forster
The Forster Products 243 WSSM Bushing Bump Neck Die is a precision reloading die built for handloaders who want tight neck control without full-length sizing. Unlike traditional neck dies or standard bushing dies, this die sizes only the case neck and adjusts headspace length while leaving the case body untouched—a technique that preserves case life and reduces the work-hardening that comes with full-length sizing. It's ideal for dedicated rifle shooters running consistent ammunition through a single firearm, especially in precision rifle applications where neck concentricity matters.
The die ships with a decapping assembly but no expander ball; instead, your choice of Forster bushing determines the internal neck diameter, giving you complete control over fit and tension. This approach lets you dial in neck clearance to match your loaded round dimensions, which translates to better concentricity and more predictable velocities from shot to shot. For 243 WSSM reloaders who understand the value of incremental bushing adjustments, that control is worth its weight in brass.
Forster bushings—sold separately—come in .001-inch increments, so you can fine-tune your neck sizing to whatever tolerance you're chasing. The rule of thumb: pick a bushing roughly .002 inch smaller than your loaded round's neck diameter. Important note: this die works exclusively with Forster bushings and is not compatible with Redding or Wilson aftermarket bushings, so plan your bushing inventory accordingly.

No. This die is designed exclusively for Forster bushings and is not compatible with Redding or Wilson aftermarket bushings. You'll need to source Forster bushings separately.
Select a bushing approximately .002 inch smaller than your loaded round measures at the case neck. Forster offers bushings in .001-inch increments, so you can fine-tune to your exact needs.
The die comes with a decapping assembly (without an expander ball) but does not include bushings. You'll purchase Forster bushings separately based on your desired neck diameter.
For shooters running a dedicated rifle, bushing bump neck sizing offers advantages: it preserves case dimensions, extends case life, and avoids the work-hardening of full-length sizing. However, this approach is best suited to single-rifle setups where consistency is the priority.
