The Federal Top Gun 12 gauge 2.75" target load is built for shooters who want reliable, consistent performance at the clay range. Loaded with 1 1/8 oz of #8 shot, this round delivers the kind of uniform patterns that make breaking targets predictable and fun—whether you're working through a skeet course or competing in sporting clays. Federal engineered these loads specifically for target shooting, not hunting, so you get ammunition optimized for the discipline rather than a compromise round doing double duty.

What sets Top Gun apart is attention to the details that matter downrange. The hard lead shot resists deformation, promoting even, repeatable patterns shot to shot. Federal's eight-segment crimp design and proprietary wad column work together to support consistent velocities and shot string behavior—two things that add up to tighter, more predictable patterns on clays. Shooters running high-volume practice sessions or tournament schedules appreciate ammunition that performs the same way in round 50 as it did in round 10.

Each box contains 25 rounds, and the case holds 10 boxes, so you've got 250 rounds ready to go. That's the volume you need for serious clay work without the hassle of multiple SKUs. If you're stocking your range bag or prepping for a competition weekend, the Federal Top Gun 2.75" #8 is a straightforward, proven choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Federal Top Gun ammunition good for clay target shooting?

Yes. Federal Top Gun is specifically designed and loaded for skeet and sporting clays. The hard shot, wad design, and crimp are all engineered to deliver consistent patterns on clay targets.

What shot size is this, and when do I use #8 shot?

This is #8 shot, a standard choice for clay target sports. #8 shot breaks clays reliably at typical target shooting distances while maintaining good pattern density.

How much does one box contain?

Each box contains 25 rounds. A full case holds 10 boxes for a total of 250 rounds.

Will this work in my 12 gauge shotgun?

These are 2.75" shells, so they will chamber in any 12 gauge shotgun rated for 2.75" ammunition. Always verify your shotgun's chamber length before shooting.
