Federal
Federal All American shotshells in 20-gauge 2-3/4" are competition-grade ammo built for shooters who take clay target sports seriously. With a payload of 7/8 ounce of #8 shot moving at 1200 fps, these rounds deliver the velocity and pellet count you need for consistent breaks on trap and skeet ranges. The engineering here matters: Federal designed the All American around a one-piece Podium wad optimized specifically for straight-wall hulls, a detail that separates true competition ammo from generic field loads.
The wad's compression zone is the real innovation. At the moment of ignition, it cushions the shot payload to reduce deformation and maintain pattern density downrange—which translates to tighter, more reliable patterns on distant targets. Federal backs this up with high-antimony lead pellets that strike a balance between hardness and density, resisting the deformation that kills pattern efficiency over distance. That means your pellets arrive at the clay harder and tighter, and your scores reflect it.
Paired with Federal's reputation for quality propellant and reliable primers, All American rounds deliver the consistency that matters in competitive shooting. Whether you're working your way up the ranks in trap or fine-tuning your skeet technique, these 25-round boxes keep you shooting with confidence. The straight-wall hull construction and inserted plastic base wad are built to cycle reliably through your shotgun, shot after shot.
| Gauge | 20 |
| Shell Length | 2-3/4" |
| Shot Weight | 7/8 oz |
| Shot Size | #8 |
| Velocity | 1200 fps |
| Round Count | 25 per box |
These are purpose-built for competitive clay target shooting—trap and skeet specifically. The Podium wad design and high-antimony pellets optimize pattern consistency and density for scoring at distance, not hunting or general sport shooting.
Yes, they're standard 20-gauge 2-3/4" shells with a straight-wall hull, so they'll function in any shotgun chambered for 20-gauge 2-3/4" ammunition. Always verify your shotgun's specifications match.
The Podium wad is one-piece and optimized for straight-wall hulls with a compression zone that cushions the shot at ignition. This design reduces pellet deformation, keeps your pattern tighter at distance, and produces less felt recoil than conventional wad designs.
This is #8 shot—smaller pellets, more pellets per ounce, tighter patterns at moderate distances. #8 is the standard for clay target competitions where you're breaking targets at known, medium distances.
