Faxon Firearms
The Faxon Match .223 Wylde 18" fluted barrel is purpose-built for shooters who demand precision. Whether you're assembling an AR-15 for competition, long-range practice, or duty work, this barrel combines proven manufacturing methods with modern metallurgy to deliver accuracy that punches above its weight class. Faxon machines each barrel in-house from 416-R stainless steel bar-stock, then applies 5R rifling—a hybrid design that reduces bullet jacket deformation, maintains velocity, and makes cleaning faster than conventional rifling patterns.
The .223 Wylde chamber is the smart choice for shooters who want flexibility without compromise. It accepts both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition safely and accurately, while the 5R rifling geometry minimizes bullet jump for tighter groups. Every barrel is individually MPI tested to ensure safety and consistency before it leaves the shop. Once testing is complete, the bore and exterior receive QPQ Nitride treatment—a hardening process that extends barrel life, resists corrosion, and keeps your shooter reliable in harsh conditions. The heavy fluted profile saves weight without sacrificing rigidity, and the nickel-teflon-coated extension maintains dry lubricity while tightening fit between barrel and receiver for added accuracy gains.
At 18 inches, this barrel hits the sweet spot for handling, velocity, and modularity. The 1/8" twist stabilizes a wide range of .223 bullet weights, and the rifle-length gas system pairs with the .750" gas block journal for reliable cycling. With 1/2x28 muzzle threading, you have endless options for suppressors, brakes, or flash hiders. This is no generic off-the-shelf blank—Faxon's Match Series represents real shooter feedback and uncompromising QC.
