Faxon Firearms
The Faxon Firearms Match 300 Blk 6" Nitride 416-R Stainless barrel is purpose-built for shooters who demand precision and reliability from a short-format, subsonic-capable platform. This 6-inch barrel pairs a faster 1:5 twist rate with Faxon's Gunner profile—a hybrid design that balances the durability of a full-profile barrel with the weight savings of a pencil profile. The result is a rifle that stays controllable and nimble during long sessions at the range, in the field, or during defensive training, while delivering the velocity and stability that 300 Blackout ammunition deserves.
Built from 416-R stainless steel and finished in Nitride, this barrel is engineered for both subsonic and supersonic loads. The 1:5 twist is notably faster than the common 1:7 or 1:8 rates found in typical 300 Blackout barrels, which means better projectile stabilization across a wider range of bullet weights and designs. That stabilization translates to more consistent energy downrange and tighter groups when it counts. The barrel features 5R rifling geometry and an NP3 (Nickel Teflon) extension for smooth, reliable feeding and enhanced corrosion resistance.
Faxon's commitment to accuracy and durability is evident in the manufacturing process. Every barrel is fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and crowned to 11 degrees for precision. In-house Magnetic Particle Inspection ensures there are no hidden defects, and each barrel is checked for headspace using custom-hardened precision gauges before it ships. Made in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, this is the kind of barrel that rewards hand-loaders and shooters who appreciate the details that separate good performance from great performance.
| Caliber | 300 Blackout |
| Length | 6 inches |
| Material | 416-R Stainless Steel |
| Finish | Nitride |
| Twist Rate | 1:5 |
| Rifling | 5R |
| Extension | NP3 (Nickel Teflon) |
| Crown | 11-degree target crown |
| Barrel Profile | Gunner |
Yes. The 1:5 twist rate is faster than typical 300 Blackout barrels and is engineered to stabilize a wide range of bullet weights and designs used in both subsonic and supersonic loads.
The Gunner profile is a hybrid design that combines the durability of a full GOVT/SOCOM profile with the weight savings of a pencil profile. This balance reduces overall rifle weight and fatigue during extended shooting, while maintaining the strength needed for reliable, long-term use.
Each barrel is manufactured in-house, fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and crowned to 11 degrees. Every barrel undergoes Magnetic Particle Inspection and is individually checked for headspace using custom-hardened precision gauges before shipping.
NP3 (Nickel Teflon) is a durable coating applied to the barrel extension. It provides enhanced corrosion resistance, smooth feeding, and improved durability for reliable function over the life of the barrel.
