Faxon Firearms
The Faxon Firearms 7.62x39 Russian 10.5" 1-8 twist Gunner contour barrel is a purpose-built upper receiver component that balances weight savings with the durability needed for high-volume shooting. If you're building or upgrading an AR-platform rifle in 7.62x39, this barrel delivers the kind of thoughtful engineering that separates quality parts from generic commodity metal. The Gunner profile tapers from a full-thickness government profile at the breech down to a lighter pencil contour toward the muzzle—keeping mass where it matters for heat management while shedding unnecessary weight up front for better handling and quicker target transitions.
Built from 4150 chrome-moly steel and finished in nitride, this barrel resists corrosion and handles rapid fire without babying. The 10.5" carbine-length configuration includes a gas port sized for standard carbine tube systems, making it a straightforward swap into most modern AR builds. Button-rifled with a 1-8" twist rate, it stabilizes the full range of 7.62x39 ammunition you're likely to run—from lighter Soviet loads to heavier modern stuff. The 5/8"-24 threads accept common suppressors and muzzle devices, and the 11° target crown protects the bore while keeping your groups tight.
Faxon machines each barrel and subjects it to magnetic particle inspection before it ships, so you're getting parts built to actual standards, not just stamped out and sent. Whether you're ringing steel at the range, competing, or running a rifle that actually needs to work, this is a barrel that doesn't cut corners.
