Faxon Firearms
The Faxon Firearms Gunner 338 Arc barrel is a 14.50" rifle barrel engineered for AR-15 platforms that demand both durability and shootability without excess weight. This is the sweet spot for hunters, trainers, and precision shooters who run suppressed builds, short-range hunting rigs, or tactical carbines where balance matters. Built from 416-R stainless steel with a black nitride finish, the Gunner profile splits the difference between a government-profile barrel's robustness and a pencil profile's handling—you get the structural integrity to shoot all day without the fatigue that comes from front-heavy systems.
The Gunner profile is Faxon's answer to a real problem: most shooters either choose durability at the cost of maneuverability, or vice versa. This barrel brings the balance point back toward your body, which means less muzzle rise, faster target reacquisition, and genuine relief during long training sessions or hunting days. Pair it with a 338 Arc upper and you've got a compact, hard-hitting platform that doesn't sacrifice reliability or accuracy. The 416-R stainless with nitride coating handles the elements and suppressed fire without complaint.
This is a pistol-length gas system barrel, so verify your upper receiver and gas tube are compatible before ordering. If you're building a short-range hunting rifle, a dedicated suppressed host, or a training carbine that won't punish your shoulders, the Gunner profile in 338 Arc delivers the balance and performance you're after.
| Barrel Length | 14.50" |
| Caliber | 338 Arc |
| Material | 416-R Stainless Steel |
| Finish | Black Nitride |
| Profile | Gunner |
| Gas System | Pistol Length |
| Platform | AR-15 |
This barrel is designed for standard AR-15 uppers with pistol-length gas systems. Verify your upper receiver and gas tube specification before purchase to ensure proper function.
The Gunner profile is Faxon's hybrid design that combines the structural strength of a government profile with the weight savings and handling of a pencil profile. The result is a barrel that balances durability with reduced muzzle-heavy feel, bringing the rifle's center of gravity closer to your body for less fatigue during long shooting or hunting sessions.
338 Arc is an intermediate rifle cartridge known for delivering solid power for hunting and shooting at practical distances, while keeping recoil manageable and fitting within standard AR-15 magazines and bolt assemblies.
Black nitride is a durable, corrosion-resistant finish that protects 416-R stainless steel from the elements and suppressor heat. It's a standard choice for barrels that will see hard use, suppression, or extended storage.
