Faxon Firearms
The Faxon AR10 Barrel in .308 Win with a 16" pencil profile is purpose-built for shooters who demand lightweight performance without sacrificing accuracy or reliability. This is a rifle barrel engineered for AR10 builds where every ounce matters—whether you're running a lightweight precision rifle, a practical hunting setup, or a field gun that needs to move fast. Faxon manufactures these barrels in-house in Cincinnati using 4150 CMV steel, stress-relieved throughout production to ensure dimensional stability and accuracy potential. At 1.78 lbs for the 16" length, the pencil profile delivers genuine weight savings compared to heavier contours, making it an intelligent choice for AR10 shooters who value maneuverability without compromise.
The 1:10 twist rifling is matched to .308 Winchester and will stabilize the full spectrum of common commercial and handload ammunition in that caliber. Faxon chambers all .308 barrels to SAAMI specification, giving you maximum compatibility across factory loads and reloads. The barrel features an 11-degree target crown, which protects the muzzle crown from damage and contributes to consistent accuracy. Threading is 5/8x24, the industry standard for .308 rifles, so you have no shortage of muzzle device options. The LR-308 extension (DPMS-compatible) ensures straightforward installation on your AR10 upper receiver.
Quality control is baked into Faxon's process: each barrel is stress-relieved, air-gauge tested, magnetically particle inspected for internal flaws, and individually headspace-checked with precision custom-hardened gauges before it ships. The finish is salt bath nitride both inside and out, which provides reliable corrosion resistance and a hard, durable surface. Gas block journal diameter is .750" with 1.1" of journal length, compatible with standard mid-length and rifle-length gas systems depending on your build configuration.
