EGW
The EGW Oversized Novak Cut Sight Mount for Vortex Viper/Venom is a precision dovetail adapter that lets you mount a quality red dot to firearms with oversized Novak cut slide rails. If you're running a pistol with an oversized Novak dovetail and want to add a Vortex Viper or Venom sight—or swap between optics without permanent modifications—this mount slides into your existing rear sight slot and holds firm. Unlike a direct factory cut, this approach preserves your iron sight option: remove the mount and your rear sight goes right back in. The progressive taper dovetail design eases installation and helps the mount seat square and true.
This isn't a bolt-and-go part. The oversized cut (machined .007\" larger than standard Novak specs) requires fitting to your individual firearm, and EGW recommends having a qualified gunsmith handle the job. That precision fit is worth the effort—it ensures the mount won't shift under recoil and your zero stays put. The mount ships with all fasteners you need: two button head cap screws for Vortex optics, plus a 5/64\" Allen wrench. Blue Loctite and a 15 in/lbs torque spec keep things locked in place without over-tightening.
Whether you're upgrading a carry gun, competition pistol, or home-defense rig, this is a no-permanent-modification way to run a modern optic. Just remember that any gunsmith work can affect your factory warranty, and installation should be verified by someone qualified before you trust your sight picture downrange.
