EGW
The EGW Howa 1500/Weatherby Vanguard Long Action scope base gives you a solid, low-profile foundation for mounting optics on rifles built on these popular actions. If you're upgrading from open sights or swapping scopes frequently, a one-piece Picatinny rail beats bolting bases to multiple drilled holes—it's faster, more flexible, and cleaner looking. This base drops directly onto your rifle's factory receiver holes with no drilling or tapping required.
Built from 7075 T6 extruded aluminum, the EGW base is engineered to stay put. The Picatinny slots meet MIL-STD 1913 tolerances (±.002"), so any Picatinny or Weaver-compatible scope ring will lock down tight and repeatable. The Long Action Heavy Duty profile sits 0.100" lower than lightweight versions, keeping your optic closer to the barrel centerline for a more natural cheek weld and better sight picture. That modest height also reduces overall rifle profile without sacrificing glass-to-bore clearance on magnum calibers.
Setup is straightforward: socket head Torx screws (included) thread into the receiver, the base seats flat, and you're ready to ring-mount your scope. EGW recommends 20 inch-lbs of torque and a light dab of threadlocker to keep everything locked. Whether you're building a long-range hunter, a varmint rifle, or a tactical setup, this base handles scope changes and holds zero reliably.
