The DPMS M4 5.56 16" with front sight base and rear MBUS is a straightforward, reliable AR-15 carbine built on mil-spec components and designed for shooters who want a no-frills platform for hunting, sport shooting, or training. This is a complete, ready-to-run rifle that balances proven functionality with practical ergonomics—no guessing about compatibility or quality.
Under the hood, you're looking at a forged 7075-T6 upper receiver (hard-coat anodized to mil-spec) paired with a matching lower in the same aluminum alloy. The 16-inch Chrome Moly barrel wears a phosphate finish and feeds through a carbine-length gas system; the 1-in-7 twist handles modern 5.56 ammunition across the full weight spectrum. Up front, an F-marked front sight base does double duty as your gas block, crowned with a standard A2 flash hider (1/2x28 threads). The bolt carrier group runs a full-auto profile with a shot-peened Carpenter 158 steel bolt, properly staked and fastened per USGI spec—the kind of details that separate rifles built to last from ones that cut corners.
The lower houses a Panther Polished single-stage trigger, mil-spec buffer tube with six positions, and a standard M4 carbine stock. The M4 handguard includes heat shields to keep your hand comfortable during sustained fire. You get backup iron sights right out of the box: a Magpul MBUS rear sight in black, which pairs well with the front sight base for a clean, cowitness setup. Overall length runs 32 inches, and the rifle weighs 6.8 pounds—handy enough for a truck gun or a day in the field, substantial enough to shoot straight.
This is the kind of rifle that doesn't demand much explanation. It's mil-spec where it matters, American-made upper receiver, and ready to go to work.
