DoubleTap Ammunition
DoubleTap's 10mm Auto 230gr JHP/Lead Ball Defense Ammo is built on an unconventional but proven concept: two projectiles in a single round that hit different points of aim, giving you redundancy and coverage downrange. Each 20-round box contains loads paired with a 135-grain hollow-point and a 95-grain lead ball, both traveling at 1040 fps. If you're running 10mm for self-defense or carry and want ammunition designed around the idea that shot placement matters, this round rewards accuracy while covering a wider threat envelope.
The dual-projectile design means the lead ball impacts high relative to the JHP—roughly one inch apart at 10 yards, opening to about 2.5 inches by 25 yards. That vertical separation is consistent enough that you can train to it and rely on it. The round is accurate and controllable, which matters in defensive scenarios where you need fast follow-ups and confidence in your gun's behavior. DoubleTap's reputation for quality control and hand-loaded precision is on full display here; this isn't commodity bulk ammo.
10mm shooters know the caliber's potential for power and penetration, and this load leans into that with a heavy total weight and velocity pairing. Whether you're practicing defensive drills, testing your carry gun, or stocking a capable self-defense round, this ammunition is purpose-built to perform. Each box ships with 20 rounds.
| Caliber | 10mm Auto |
| Total Bullet Weight | 230 grains |
| Projectile 1 | 135gr Jacketed Hollow Point |
| Projectile 2 | 95gr Lead Ball |
| Velocity | 1040 fps |
| Rounds Per Box | 20 |
Each round contains two separate bullets that leave the barrel at the same velocity but impact at slightly different points. At 10 yards, the impact separation is approximately one inch; at 25 yards, it opens to about 2.5 inches. This means you're creating two wound channels instead of one, with predictable vertical separation you can train around.
DoubleTap designed this load specifically for defense applications, pairing a hollow-point for expansion with a solid lead ball for penetration and secondary impact. The 230-grain total weight and 1040 fps velocity deliver the power 10mm is known for while remaining controllable for follow-up shots.
Each box contains 20 rounds of loaded ammunition, each round holding the 135gr JHP and 95gr lead ball combination.
DoubleTap hand-loads their ammunition for consistency and precision. The impact separation between projectiles at known distances (one inch at 10 yards, 2.5 inches at 25 yards) is reliable enough to train and build confidence in your shooting platform.
