Desantis Gunhide
The Desantis #002 Speed Scabbard holster for Colt 1911 5" is built for shooters who want a no-nonsense carry rig without the fuss of thumb breaks. Whether you're carrying plainclothes, working security, or running drills at the range, this right-hand holster delivers the speed and retention you need from unlined leather that breaks in fast and molds to your gun. The Speed Scabbard uses precise molding and an adjustable tension screw to keep your 1911 secure while staying quick to the draw—no complicated retention devices, just reliable hold and smooth clearance.
Crafted in tan leather, the Speed Scabbard pairs rugged durability with a professional appearance that works on the job or in the field. The belt slots are 1¾" wide, fitting standard duty and casual carry belts. Desantis engineered this design for the professionals and serious shooters who've run thumb-break holsters and decided they wanted something faster and simpler. The tan finish hides wear better than black and ages into a natural patina with use.
If you're carrying a Colt 1911 5" and prioritize speed over gadgetry, the Speed Scabbard is a time-tested choice that won't overcomplicate your draw. It's the kind of holster that disappears once you're wearing it—dependable leather, solid retention, and nothing in your way when you need to move.
