Daniel Defense
The Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 SLW is a lightweight, purpose-built 5.56mm semi-auto rifle engineered for shooters who demand fast handling and minimal fatigue over long days in the field or at the range. Weighing just under 6 pounds, it's among the lightest in the DDM4 lineup—a meaningful advantage when you're carrying your rifle for hours. Built around a cold hammer-forged 14.5-inch lightweight barrel with a mid-length direct impingement gas system, the V7 SLW cycles smoothly and reliably while reducing perceived recoil and wear on internal components. The barrel is pinned and welded to a Daniel Defense flash suppressor to meet the 16-inch minimum overall length requirement, so it ships ready to shoot without paperwork.
What sets this rifle apart is its attention to weight reduction without compromise. The MFR 13.5 handguard is free-floating, CNC-machined aluminum, and runs full-length accessory mounting—seven M-LOK slots plus a continuous Picatinny rail on top—so you can configure it for your mission. The lower and upper receivers are mil-spec 7075-T6 aluminum, CNC-machined and treated to mil-spec phosphate finish. The bolt carrier group is M16-profile, chrome-lined, and MP tested; the gas block is properly pinned hardened steel. Every component is built to last and function under hard use.
The DDM4 V7 SLW ships with a Daniel Defense buttstock and pistol grip, both polymer with soft-touch overmolding for comfortable handling in gloved or bare hands. The 6-position receiver extension gives you length-of-pull flexibility. Sights are sold separately—typical for quality rifle platforms—so you can pair this gun with the optic setup that fits your role. Made in the USA and backed by Daniel Defense's reputation for consistency and durability, the V7 SLW is at home in a patrol bag, a hunting pack, or slung for off-hand work.
