Daiichi Hooks
The Daiichi Circle Wide Hook in black nickel is a purpose-built saltwater and freshwater circle hook that bridges the gap between traditional wide-gap designs and modern circle-hook geometry. This offset variant in size 7/0 gives you a larger bite with a profile that's comfortable for both conventional retrieval and the hands-off hook-setting technique that circle hooks are known for. Three hooks per pack means you've got backups when you need them—whether you're targeting saltwater gamefish, catfish, or other species where a reliable hookset matters.
Circle hooks are designed to hook fish in the corner of the mouth, reducing gut-hooking and giving you better landing rates on live-bait and cut-bait presentations. The wide-gap geometry here expands your options when larger baits or faster-moving target species are in play. The light-wire construction keeps things nimble without sacrificing strength for the hook's size, and black nickel finish resists corrosion in salt spray and hard freshwater conditions.
The offset design—where the eye is slightly angled relative to the shank—is a classic preference among anglers who want consistent bait presentation and a hook that tracks true in the water. No aggressive hook-setting needed: just maintain steady tension and let the hook's geometry do the work. That slow sweep of the rod the manufacturer recommends isn't laziness—it's precisely why circle hooks have earned their reputation for reliability and fish retention.

Circle hooks are designed to catch fish in the corner of the mouth through the hook's natural geometry, rather than requiring an aggressive hookset. They typically result in better fish retention and reduce the likelihood of deep hooking or gut-hooking. The wide-gap design here adds extra bite capacity compared to standard circle hooks.
Yes. Black nickel provides strong corrosion resistance in saltwater environments, as well as in hard freshwater. It's a durable choice for both coastal and inland applications.
No. Circle hooks work best with steady tension and a slow rod sweep rather than an aggressive hookset. The hook's shape naturally positions it in the corner of the fish's mouth as it turns.
