Colt
The Colt Python 357 Magnum revolver with a 2-inch barrel represents one of the most storied wheelguns in American shooting history—and this Shooters Model brings that legend to the range or carry rotation in practical, no-nonsense form. The Python has earned its reputation for smooth double-action trigger work and rock-solid reliability, and this compact 2.5-inch configuration keeps the gun maneuverable while maintaining the accuracy and power you expect from .357 Magnum. If you're drawn to classic revolvers that actually shoot like they should, the Python's trigger feel and sight package make this worth serious consideration.
This is a Shooters Model—meaning it's 100% new in box but may carry minor cosmetic imperfections from manufacturing that don't affect function and aren't covered under Colt's one-year warranty. These blemishes are typically invisible without magnification, so you're getting a fully functional, genuine Python at a practical price. The polished blued finish and walnut grips with gold medallion give it traditional revolver appeal, while the redesigned rear sight and substantially reinforced steel underneath provide a more robust platform than earlier iterations.
The double and single-action trigger breaks at 7 to 9.5 pounds in double-action mode—controllable without being mushy—and the interchangeable red ramp front sight pairs with a target-adjustable rear sight for precision work. At 39 ounces unloaded and just 2 inches deep, it's compact enough for serious carry but substantial enough to manage recoil and shoot accurately. Six-round capacity in .357 Magnum gives you either the power of the magnum load or the softer recoil of .38 Special ammunition—genuine versatility in a single firearm.
Whether you're rebuilding a revolver battery, looking for a gun that'll outlast you, or just want a Python that actually comes to the range affordable, the Shooters Model delivers the core Python experience without pristine cosmetics you'll lose the first time you use it anyway.
