Colt
The Colt M4 LE6920-OEM1 carbine in 5.56mm is a no-frills AR-15 platform rifle built on a direct gas impingement system with a proven locking bolt design. If you're looking for a quality foundation to build your own custom AR without paying for furniture you don't want, this bare-bones 16-inch barreled carbine gives you a clean slate. The 16.1-inch chrome-lined barrel features a 1:7 right-hand twist—a standard military spin rate that handles everything from 55-grain varmint rounds to heavier match ammo. Colt's semi-automatic action cycles reliably, and the pistol-grip receiver comes in hardened matte black, ready to accept whatever rail system, handguard, stock, and rear sight setup matches your mission.
Because it ships without any furniture—no handguard, no stock, no rear sight—you're not forced into someone else's ergonomic compromise. That's a real advantage if you already have a preferred furniture setup or you want to spec out your rifle exactly how you shoot it. The adjustable elevation post front sight is a clean, low-profile anchor point for iron sights or as a backup to whatever optic you mount. Overall length comes in at 32 inches, typical for a 16-inch carbine, making it nimble enough for home defense, patrol, or practical shooting sports.
This is a no-nonsense platform built on Colt's long track record with military and law enforcement AR designs. Whether you're a precision shooter, an action-sports competitor, or someone who knows exactly what furniture works for you, the LE6920-OEM1 gets out of your way and lets you build the rifle you want.

Not in its current state. You'll need to add a buttstock, handguard, and grip at minimum before it's functional and safe. Most shooters also add a rear sight or optic. If you're experienced building AR-15s, this is a straightforward project; if you're new to AR builds, plan on some assembly work or professional gunsmithing help.
A 1:7 twist is a military-standard rate that stabilizes a wide range of 5.56mm ammunition. It handles lighter rounds around 55 grains and heavier match or hunting loads up to 77 grains or more, making it versatile for most shooting applications.
Yes. The 5.56mm cartridge is legal and suitable for hunting small to medium game in most states. Verify your local regulations for caliber and hunting season rules, and confirm that 5.56mm is approved for the game you intend to hunt.
