Colt
The Colt 1911 Custom Carry Limited is a 9mm short-barrel pistol built for shooters who want a concealable 1911 without compromise. Built on Colt's proven 80 Series Stainless Commander platform and assembled by Colt Custom Shop Master Gunsmiths, this is a hand-fit production gun, not a run-of-the-mill catalog item. The 4.25-inch barrel keeps it compact enough for carry while maintaining the pointability and ergonomics that make the 1911 legendary for defensive and range work.
Every part of the Custom Carry is selected for reliability and shootability. The frame features Stan Chen Custom components, including a Gen2 Magwell Beavertail Grip Safety that sits high on the frame to reduce hammer bite and improve grip purchase. The full custom rear sight is co-witnessed and set up to work with standard 1911 front sights. The Decobond Smoke Gray ionbond finish is tough, corrosion-resistant, and resists the wear that pocket holsters and daily carry inflict on steel. This isn't a safe queen—it's built to live in a holster.
With a 7-round magazine capacity and a 4.25-inch barrel, the Custom Carry splits the difference between a full-size 1911 and a sub-compact. It's long enough to shoot accurately at distance but short enough to carry concealed. If you've been sizing up 1911 carry pistols and want one that feels like a proper gun in your hand without being unwieldy, this is worth your attention.
