The Colt Competition Custom .38 Super Pistol in stainless steel represents serious iron for shooters who demand precision and reliability on the competition circuit. Built on the proven Series 70 platform and hand-assembled by Colt's Master Gunsmiths, this Model O1073CS delivers the fit, finish, and accuracy tuning that separates a purpose-built competition gun from a standard duty pistol. If you're running .38 Super in IPSC, USPSA, or other sanctioned matches, this stainless steel 1911 is engineered to compete.

The competition-focused build starts with a National Match barrel that's been fitted for minimal play and maximum consistency. Colt's Custom Shop has hand-fitted the frame and slide, then blended the magwell so magazine transitions run smooth under pressure. The front strap wears 25 LPI checkering—aggressive enough to keep your grip secure when things get fast, but refined enough for extended shooting sessions. The result is a gun that points naturally and holds steady, whether you're making long-range headshots or driving multiple rounds downrange.

Sights are Novak adjustable at the rear with a Novak red fiber optic front, giving you a combat-proven sight picture with the brightness advantage of fiber on target. VZ G10 Operator Grips provide positive purchase and won't slip when wet. The fully adjustable Bomar-style rear sight lets you dial in your zero and trust it to hold—critical for competition where your load and point of aim need to be locked in. Single-action trigger, nine-round capacity, 5-inch barrel, and 8.5-inch overall length keep this gun fast and controllable.

This is stainless steel throughout—frame and slide—so it'll shrug off the wear that comes with heavy practice and match use. The Colt Custom Shop builds these one at a time, hand-fit and tested. If you're serious about .38 Super competition, this is the real deal.
