Cold Steel
The Cold Steel CS97TKLZ Tactical Wakizashi is a no-nonsense fixed-blade knife that brings traditional Japanese blade design into a practical modern package. With an 18-inch 1055 carbon steel blade and 25-inch overall length, this tactical wakizashi delivers serious reach and presence for camp tasks, survival situations, or collectors who appreciate functional pry bars and choppers. The anti-rust treatment on the blade helps protect against corrosion during field use or storage, while the black polypropylene handle offers a secure, weather-resistant grip that won't absorb moisture or swell in wet conditions.
This is a full-sized tool, not a neck knife or utility blade—it's built for work. The 1055 carbon steel holds an edge well enough for camp chores, food prep, and brush clearing, though like all high-carbon steel it requires attention to prevent rust if you're carrying it in damp environments. The handle design prioritizes function over frills; polypropylene is lightweight, durable, and forgiving in temperature extremes. It comes with a sheath, so you can carry it safely and access it quickly when you need it.
Whether you're gearing up a backcountry kit, setting up an overlanding rig, or simply want a serious fixed blade that can handle abuse without complaint, the Cold Steel Tactical Wakizashi cuts through the hype and delivers steel and edge. It's the kind of tool that doesn't need a manual—just sharp, honest, and ready to work.
| Blade Length | 18 inches |
| Overall Length | 25 inches |
| Blade Material | 1055 Carbon Steel |
| Handle Material | Black Polypropylene |
| Finish | Black Matte, Anti-Rust Baked-On |
| Includes | Sheath |
The knife comes with a sheath, so it's ready for safe carry and storage right out of the box.
The blade has an anti-rust treatment applied to help protect against corrosion. However, like all high-carbon steel, it can rust if exposed to prolonged moisture without care. Regular wiping and occasional light oiling will keep it in top condition.
At 18 inches with a full 25-inch overall length, this is a serious fixed-blade tool suited for camp work, survival tasks, brush clearing, and food prep. It's built for hard use in field and backcountry settings.
Yes. Polypropylene resists moisture absorption and temperature extremes, making it reliable in wet conditions and across a wide range of climates. It won't swell, crack, or degrade the way some natural materials can.
