Cold Steel
The Cold Steel FGX Boot Blade II is a compact fixed-blade knife built for serious fieldwork, survival, and tactical use. With its 3.25-inch plain Griv-Ex blade and rugged Kray-Ex handle, this boot knife delivers reliable cutting performance in a size that fits discreetly into a pack, boot, or waistband sheath. Whether you're hunting, camping, or carrying everyday backup steel, the FGX Boot Blade II combines Cold Steel's proven blade geometry with durable handle materials designed to handle hard use without complaint.
The Griv-Ex blade is Cold Steel's proprietary edge treatment that holds sharpness and resists corrosion—a practical choice for field conditions where frequent maintenance isn't always possible. The plain edge gives you predictable, controlled cuts rather than the aggressive bite of a serrated design. The black Kray-Ex handle offers good grip texture, low maintenance, and the kind of no-frills durability you need when a knife is more tool than showpiece.
Boot knives occupy a specific role in any cutting tool lineup: quick-access backup steel that doesn't demand belt real estate or draw attention. The compact 3.25-inch blade makes this one genuinely concealable without being so small that it's useless. Cold Steel's fixed-blade construction means no folding joints to fail, no locking mechanisms to fuss with—just solid steel that does its job every time. If you hunt remote country, run a backcountry camp, or simply believe in carrying a reliable fixed blade, the FGX Boot Blade II is worth adding to your kit.
| Brand | Cold Steel |
| Model | FGX Boot Blade II |
| Blade Length | 3.25 inches |
| Blade Edge | Plain |
| Blade Material | Griv-Ex |
| Handle Material | Kray-Ex |
| Handle Color | Black |
| Blade Type | Fixed |
Boot knives are traditionally carried inside a boot, ankle sheath, or waistband pouch—anywhere accessible but out of the way. The compact 3.25-inch size makes it concealable and quick-access without the bulk of a full-size hunting knife. A sheath isn't included with this knife, so factor that into your setup.
Griv-Ex is Cold Steel's proprietary blade coating designed to resist corrosion and hold its edge. The exact steel composition isn't specified in the product data, so if that detail matters for your use, contact us directly.
The 3.25-inch blade is genuinely useful for field tasks—processing game, preparing firewood, food prep, first aid—but it's smaller and lighter than a dedicated hunting knife. It excels as a backup blade or a lightweight second knife when every ounce matters. For primary field cutting, most hunters pair this with a larger fixed blade.
The product listing specifies only the knife itself. Sheath, carry system, and any other accessories aren't documented here—contact Bosque Outdoors to confirm what ships with your order.
