The Cobratec Knives FS-3 Medium is a purpose-built out-of-the-pocket (OTF) knife that combines tactical speed with everyday practicality. Built on a proven platform favored by field professionals, this medium OTF features a 3-inch drop point blade in D2 steel—a steel choice that balances edge retention with ease of maintenance, making it reliable in backcountry, camp, or close-quarters work. The 4.5-inch black aluminum alloy handle provides a secure grip and confident deployment when seconds count.
OTF knives live by a simple virtue: they're fast. No flipping, no fumbling—one hand, one motion, blade out. The drop point profile on the FS-3 is versatile: it's equally at home processing game, breaking down camp gear, or tackling general utility tasks without the aggressive tip of a tanto or dagger. Plain edge means no serrations to complicate sharpening in the field, and D2 steel rewards that simplicity with good edge life between steels.
This is the knife for hunters, outdoorsmen, and professionals who want reliable speed and a compact form factor without compromise. The medium size strikes the right balance—substantial enough for real work, compact enough to carry without fatigue. Whether you're dressing game, cutting cordage, or handling tasks around camp, the FS-3 Medium delivers straightforward, no-nonsense performance.

OTF stands for out-of-the-pocket (or out-the-front). The blade deploys straight forward from the handle with a single button or lever press, giving you one-handed access in seconds. Hunters, field professionals, and outdoorsmen appreciate OTF knives for fast deployment when you need a blade immediately—processing game, cutting rope or webbing, or emergency field work where two-handed fumbling isn't practical.
D2 is a tool steel that holds an edge well and resists wear, making it reliable for real work in the field. It's also relatively easy to sharpen compared to harder stainless steels, which matters when you're maintaining your blade away from a sharpening bench. The plain edge on this model keeps maintenance straightforward.
At 4.5 inches of handle and a medium overall profile, the FS-3 is compact and light enough for all-day carry without fatigue, whether you're in a pack, belt sheath, or jacket pocket. The aluminum alloy handle is durable and provides good grip control without excessive bulk.
A drop point is one of the most versatile blade shapes. The curved edge excels at slicing, and the reinforced tip (compared to a clip point) handles piercing and controlled cuts without risk of breakage. It's equally effective for game processing, camp utility work, or any general-purpose cutting without the aggression of a tanto or dagger point.
