CMMG
The CMMG 33D190C is an 8.6 Blackout barrel sub-assembly built for shooters who want to convert or upgrade their rifle platform to one of the most effective modern subsonic cartridges. This 16.10" barrel features a black nitride finish for corrosion resistance and durability in the field, paired with CMMG's 4140 chromium-molybdenum steel construction—a time-tested material that balances hardness, heat resistance, and longevity. Whether you're building a dedicated 8.6 Blackout rifle, swapping barrels for a different caliber experience, or setting up a suppressed hunting or defensive platform, this sub-assembly gives you a quality barrel from a manufacturer known for precision and reliability.
8.6 Blackout has earned a strong reputation among hunters and tactical shooters for its ability to deliver serious terminal performance from a suppressed rifle while maintaining subsonic velocities with heavy projectiles. The 16.10" barrel length strikes a practical balance—short enough for handling in dense cover or vehicles, yet long enough to wring out the velocity potential that makes this cartridge effective on medium-sized game. The black nitride coating resists fouling and corrosion, simplifying maintenance between range sessions and hunts.
This barrel sub-assembly is designed for builders and shooters who understand their platform's compatibility requirements. CMMG barrels are manufactured to exacting standards, so you're starting with a solid foundation whether you're assembling a new upper receiver, upgrading an existing rifle, or maintaining a backup system.
| Caliber | 8.6 Blackout |
| Barrel Length | 16.10" |
| Material | 4140 Chromium-Molybdenum Steel |
| Finish | Black Nitride |
| Manufacturer | CMMG |
| Model | 33D190C |
This CMMG barrel sub-assembly is chambered in 8.6 Blackout. Confirm your upper receiver or platform's compatibility with this cartridge before purchase. Consult your rifle's manual or contact the manufacturer if you're unsure whether your build supports this caliber.
This is a barrel sub-assembly—a component designed for builders. Installation requirements depend on your specific platform and build configuration. Ensure you have the necessary tools, knowledge, and compatible components for your intended application.
Black nitride is a surface treatment that hardens the steel and improves resistance to corrosion and wear. It reduces fouling buildup and makes the barrel easier to clean and maintain over time, especially in adverse weather or after extended shooting sessions.
8.6 Blackout is designed to deliver reliable subsonic performance with heavy bullets while maintaining effectiveness on game and targets. It's popular among hunters and shooters running suppressors who want a cartridge optimized for quiet operation without the velocity loss inherent to other subsonic options.
