The CMC AR-15 Component Trigger with 2.5lb pull weight gives you the tuned performance of a match-grade trigger without committing to a complete drop-in housing. If you're building or upgrading an AR platform rifle and want direct control over your trigger assembly, this combat-curved component trigger delivers a smooth, predictable break and positive reset that serious shooters expect. The light 2.5lb pull weight suits precision rifle work, competitive shooting, and hunting where you need minimal takeup and clean separation.

CMC Triggers engineered this component version with the same materials and attention to feel as their drop-in offerings—you get the reliability and crispness without being locked into their housing ecosystem. The small pin design fits standard AR-15 receivers and integrates into your existing lower parts kit. Installation is straightforward if you have basic trigger-swap experience; CMC's patented assembly tool (sold separately) simplifies the process and ensures proper timing and engagement.

This is the choice for builders who know their platform, value precision triggers, and want to tailor the rest of their control group to their exact spec. Whether you're fine-tuning a long-range rifle, setting up a 3-gun competitor, or simply upgrading a duty rifle with a lighter, more predictable break, the CMC component trigger gives you performance without compromise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this CMC AR-15 trigger fit my lower receiver?

Yes, the small pin design is compatible with standard AR-15 lower receivers. Make sure your lower is set up for small pin triggers.

What's the difference between a component trigger and a drop-in trigger?

This component trigger gives you the performance of CMC's match-grade design without the complete housing. You integrate it into your own lower parts kit, giving you more flexibility in choosing your hammer, disconnector, and springs to match your build.

Is the assembly tool included?

No, CMC's patented assembly tool is sold separately. It's helpful for proper installation and timing, but not required if you have trigger assembly experience.

What kind of shooting is a 2.5lb trigger suited for?

The 2.5lb pull weight is ideal for precision rifle shooting, long-range hunting, match competition, and any application where a light, crisp break enhances accuracy and control. Check your local range rules and hunting regulations for any trigger weight restrictions.
