Chip McCormick Custom
The Chip McCormick Custom Match Grade 1911 Government/Commander 45 ACP 8-round stainless steel magazine brings precision engineering to one of the most critical components of your pistol. Built to tolerances tighter than standard military specs, this is the magazine serious competitors, defensive shooters, and 1911 enthusiasts choose when reliability and consistency matter. Whether you're running a classic Government frame or the more compact Commander, this USGI-style fixed base magazine delivers the performance you'd expect from a purpose-built match-grade product.
What sets the Match Grade apart is obsessive attention to the details that make magazines work. The follower design and feed lip geometry have been refined beyond typical military specifications, paired with aerospace-grade rocket-wire springs that maintain tension shot after shot. The laser-welded base plate eliminates the weak point that causes so many standard magazines to fail—this one is built for the long haul. Large numbered viewing holes let you track your round count at a glance without fumbling, and the smooth finish ensures your mag seats and strips quickly when you need it.
Die-controlled tolerances held to ±.001 inch—more than 75% tighter than USGI standards—mean each magazine performs like its siblings. That consistency matters on the range, in competition, and in any situation where your pistol has to work. Stainless steel construction resists corrosion and abuse, and the fixed base design is compatible with standard 1911 platforms that accept Government or Commander-pattern mags.
