The Cimarron Firearms Couberti Thunderer .357 Magnum/.38 Special 4.75" revolver is a single-action peacemaker-style sixgun built on Cimarron's Old Model frame with a pre-1896 bullseye ejector head. It's a full-sized carry revolver that splits the difference between classic Old West aesthetics and practical modern shooting — chambered in a dual caliber pairing that lets you shoot both .357 Magnum and .38 Special from the same cylinder. If you're after a working single-action revolver with proven reliability and authentic lines, the Thunderer deserves serious consideration.
What sets the Thunderer apart is its bird's head grip, a style popularized in period firearms and favored by shooters who value a natural, faster point-of-aim in the hand. Paired with the 4.75" barrel, you get a balanced firearm that handles well from the holster without sacrificing sight radius or velocity. The case hardened frame and standard blue finish give it that aged character — not surface-level nostalgia, but genuine construction that speaks to function first. A single-piece walnut grip (available smooth or checkered) rounds out the package with traditional wood-to-metal lines.
At just 2.76 pounds, the Thunderer won't tire your hip over a long day afield or at the range. The dual-caliber setup in .357 Magnum/.38 Special is a practical advantage: you can load lighter .38 Special rounds for informal shooting or reduced recoil, then step up to full-house magnums when hunting or for serious defensive use. This is a revolver built to shoot, not to sit on a shelf.
