CHIAPPA FIREARMS
The Chiappa Rhino 50SAR 9mm revolver is a single-action wheel gun built around an unconventional design that sets it apart from traditional revolver layouts. With its 5-inch barrel and 6-round capacity, the Rhino 50SAR chambers 9mm Luger—a practical choice for shooters who want to share ammunition with their semi-auto pistols or carbines. The California-legal configuration makes it accessible to shooters in restrictive states, and the walnut grips deliver a classic, comfortable hold that balances aesthetics with function.
What makes the Rhino distinctive is its lower bore axis design. By positioning the cylinder lower relative to the sights and grip, recoil management improves and sight recovery speeds up between shots—advantages that matter whether you're practicing at the range or relying on the gun for personal defense. The alloy frame keeps weight manageable at just under two pounds, and the black finish resists corrosion without the fussiness of chrome.
Sights are practical: a fiber optic front sight picks up light and targets in low conditions, while the adjustable rear sight lets you zero for your preferred distance and ammunition. The single-action trigger is clean and predictable, rewarding deliberate marksmanship. Three moon clips are included—essential for loading and unloading 9mm brass efficiently in a revolver.
The Rhino 50SAR appeals to revolver enthusiasts looking for something different, shooters who prefer 9mm economics, and anyone seeking a compact, reliable wheelgun that doesn't follow the conventional mold. It's a specialized tool that rewards understanding its design.

Yes—this model is specifically configured to meet California legal requirements.
The Rhino 50SAR fires 9mm Luger, allowing you to use the same ammunition as most popular semi-auto pistols and carbines. This shared compatibility simplifies logistics and often reduces per-round cost compared to traditional revolver calibers.
Moon clips are metal rings that hold 9mm cartridges in the proper position for loading into the revolver cylinder. Because 9mm cases are shorter than traditional revolver rounds, clips are necessary for safe, efficient loading and unloading. Three clips allow you to load, carry, and reload without waiting.
By positioning the cylinder and barrel lower relative to your hand and sight line, the Rhino reduces the felt effect of recoil and keeps your sights on target faster between shots. This translates to quicker sight recovery and smoother shooting, especially useful in practice or defensive scenarios.
