CHIAPPA FIREARMS
The Chiappa LA322 is a modern take on the lever-action .22 LR rifle—a platform that's been woven into American shooting culture for generations. If you grew up plinking with a .22, or you're introducing a new shooter to the sport, this Chiappa delivers the speed and handling of a classic lever gun with practical features that make it genuinely useful on the range, in the field, or around the homestead. At 5.5 pounds and 35.5 inches overall, it's light enough to carry all day and nimble enough to swing on running game or pop targets without fatigue.
The real appeal here is the blend of function and value. You get a 15-round magazine tube capacity, so you're not constantly reloading during a plinking session. The checkered wood furniture—both pistol grip and forend—gives you secure purchase even when your hands are cold or damp, while the matte black finish on the steel barrel resists glint and corrosion. The alloy frame keeps weight down without sacrificing durability. A fixed front tunnel sight and adjustable buckhorn rear sight come ready to shoot, and a 3/8-inch dovetail machined into the receiver accepts optics if you want to mount a rimfire scope or red dot for extended range work.
The take-down design is a genuine convenience—you can break it down quickly for transport in a truck, pack, or safe without tools, and reassembly is just as straightforward. The half-cock hammer safety is a time-tested mechanism that lets you lower the hammer safely on a loaded chamber. If you're after a lever-action .22 that handles fast, feels good in your hands, and won't break the budget, the LA322 ticks all the boxes.
