Charter Arms
The Charter Arms Undercover .38 Special revolver has been a workhorse in the concealed carry market for decades, and this 2" barrel model carries on that tradition. At just 16 ounces, the Undercover 63820 is genuinely pocket-sized without sacrificing the stopping power of .38 Special ammunition. The compact five-shot cylinder and small frame make it ideal for IWB carry, ankle holsters, or quick-access bedside defense—places where full-size pistols simply won't fit. If you're looking for a lightweight, no-frills revolver that doesn't pretend to be something it isn't, this is a proven choice.
The black Nitride finish is Charter's proprietary hardening process that sets it apart from standard blued revolvers. Nitride reduces friction and wear on the action, protects against corrosion better than traditional finishes, and resists scratches that come with daily carry. The full grip and standard hammer round out the platform—straightforward, reliable, and human-scale ergonomics that work across a wide range of hand sizes and shooting styles. This isn't a tricked-out duty gun or a range toy; it's a utilitarian five-shot revolver built on principles that have worked for fifty years.
Whether you're a woods wanderer who wants a backup on your belt, a civilian prioritizing simplicity over capacity, or a veteran shooter who respects .38 Special for what it does well, the Undercover fills a specific role. Revolver shooters tend to value reliability and predictability over feature lists, and Charter understands that philosophy. This gun runs, points naturally, and requires almost no training to operate—a real asset in the moment it matters most.

Yes. At 16 ounces with a 2" barrel and small frame, it's designed specifically for concealed carry. The compact profile and lightweight construction make it practical for pocket carry, IWB holsters, or ankle carry without printing or fatigue over a long day.
Charter's proprietary Nitride process hardens the surface, reduces friction in the action, and offers better corrosion resistance than traditional blued finishes. It's also more resistant to scratches and wear, which matters on a carry gun that will see daily use.
Yes. The standard hammer allows you to cock the revolver manually for single-action precision shots or pull through the trigger for double-action defense shooting—both methods work with this configuration.
The full grip is sized to work across a range of hand sizes. Smaller-handed shooters may find it adequate, though some prefer purchasing optional grip panels if needed—we'd recommend handling one in person to confirm fit for your hand.
