Charter Arms
The Charter Arms Mag Pug 357 Mag revolver is a compact 5-shot wheelgun built for serious home defense and personal protection. Chambered in .357 Magnum, this 3-inch barrel revolver delivers potent stopping power in a package that doesn't sacrifice usability—it weighs just 21 ounces, making it manageable for extended carry or rapid deployment when it counts. The exposed hammer lets you run it double-action for speed or single-action for precision, and the fixed front sight keeps the design simple and reliable.
The Mag Pug's steel frame includes a Picatinny rail, so you can mount a light or laser if your defensive doctrine calls for it. Black combat rubber grips provide control and absorb recoil, which matters when you're shooting full-power .357 Mag loads. This isn't a gun designed to disappear—the black and orange finish gives it character, and the compact profile means it can live in a nightstand drawer, under a pillow, or in a quick-access safe without taking up real estate.
If you're building a home defense loadout and want a revolver that won't jam, won't require you to manage a safety in a crisis, and hits hard without breaking the bank, the Mag Pug has been a staple choice for decades. It's uncomplicated, proven, and gets the job done. The .357 Magnum platform gives you the flexibility to shoot milder .38 Special rounds for practice without any loss of reliability—something semi-auto shooters have to plan around.
