CCI Clean-22 Subsonic .22 LR ammunition is engineered for shooters who want cleaner, easier-to-maintain firearms without sacrificing reliability. Whether you're running a bolt-action, semi-auto, or suppressed .22 rifle, these 40-grain blue polymer-coated rounds deliver dependable performance while keeping your barrel and suppressor significantly cleaner than standard rimfire ammo. The blue coating is CCI's signature for subsonic loads—a visual cue that separates them from their High Velocity counterparts.

The polymer bullet coating does the heavy lifting here. It dramatically reduces copper and lead fouling inside your barrel, and critically, cuts lead accumulation in suppressors by 60 to 80 percent. For anyone running a .22 through a can, that's a game-changer: fewer cleaning sessions and longer intervals between deep maintenance. The coating leaves no residue, so your bore stays cleaner without gumming up or requiring special solvents. You get consistent CCI priming and propellant that cycle reliably through semi-automatics and bolt guns alike, with bullet geometry optimized for accuracy across the board.

At 40 grains with a round-nose profile, these rounds suit everything from casual plinking and small-game hunting to serious suppressed shooting and even competitive disciplines where subsonic velocity is an advantage. If you own a suppressed .22 or simply value easier gun maintenance, CCI Clean-22 Subsonic addresses a real problem that shooters have dealt with for years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will CCI Clean-22 Subsonic work in my semi-automatic .22 rifle?

Yes. CCI Clean-22 Subsonic is designed for reliable cycling through semi-automatics and all .22 LR firearms. The subsonic load will function in any standard .22 rifle.

What's the advantage of this ammo if I'm running a suppressor?

The polymer-coated bullet cuts lead buildup in suppressors by 60 to 80 percent compared to standard rimfire ammo. This means fewer cleaning sessions and significantly less maintenance. If you shoot suppressed, that's a substantial practical benefit.

How does the polymer coating help with regular .22 shooting?

The coating greatly reduces copper and lead fouling in your barrel without leaving any residue, so your bore stays cleaner longer and requires less frequent scrubbing. This applies whether you're shooting suppressed or not.

Is there a difference between the blue and red CCI Clean-22 loads?

Yes. The blue polymer coating identifies the subsonic load; CCI also produces a High Velocity version with red polymer coating. This product is the subsonic variant.
