Keep your scope's objective lens protected in the field without sacrificing quick access when it matters most. The Butler Creek Flip-Open Objective Lens Cover in 57.20mm (Model 30400) combines practical lens protection with a design that won't slow you down. Built for hunters and shooters who need to stay ready, this black polymer cover features a spring-hinged flip-open mechanism that lets you expose your optic in a single motion—no caps to lose or fumble with when that moment of truth arrives.

The custom-fit friction mount grips your scope securely, staying put through brush, truck beds, and rough terrain without rattle or shift. An air-tight semi-O-ring seal locks out dust and moisture, keeping your lens clean and clear between shooting sessions and during extended hunts in wet or grimy conditions. The design has been tested to function reliably at –40°F, so alpine hunts and late-season sits won't compromise performance.

Weighing less than an ounce, this cover adds virtually nothing to your setup. The silent spring hinges open without the snap or click that can alert game, and the ambidextrous design works equally well whether you shoot right- or left-handed. Once you run Butler Creek objective covers, you'll wonder how you ever managed with traditional screw-on caps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this cover fit my scope?

The Butler Creek Model 30400 is sized for 57.20mm objective lenses. Measure your scope's objective diameter or consult the product size chart to confirm the correct fit. Choosing the wrong size will result in a loose or overly tight cover.

How does the flip-open design compare to screw-on caps?

Unlike traditional caps you have to remove and store, the flip-open cover hinges back with a light touch, staying attached to your scope. You don't lose it, and you don't need a free hand to manage it when you're settling in for a shot.

Is this cover waterproof?

Yes. The air-tight semi-O-ring seal and water-tight friction mount keep moisture and dust out when the cover is closed. This makes it ideal for wet conditions, extended hunts, or storage between range sessions.

Can I use this if I'm left-handed?

Absolutely. The design is truly ambidextrous, so it works equally well for right- and left-handed shooters.
