The Butler Creek 30280 Flip-Open Objective Lens Cover in black polymer is a purpose-built scope lens protector sized for 48mm objectives. If you hunt or shoot in variable conditions—rain, dust, snow, mud—this cover keeps your glass clean and protected until the moment you need to take your shot. The flip-open design means no fumbling with caps in your hands or pockets; one thumb opens it silently and stays out of your way.

Butler Creek engineered these covers to fit each scope size precisely, creating a friction-mount grip that holds firm in the field without screwing onto your objective. The semi-O-ring seal blocks out dust and moisture while remaining easy to operate—no springs to break, no caps to lose. The silent spring hinges won't rattle or announce your position to game, and the whole setup weighs next to nothing.

Tested to extreme cold, ambidextrous for left and right-handed shooters, and lean enough not to add bulk to your rig, this cover is sized specifically for 48mm scopes and marked as Size 28 in Butler Creek's lineup. If your scope's objective matches that measurement, this is a straightforward way to keep your lens protected and ready for a clear shot whenever opportunity comes.

No. The flip-open design with thumb operation is quick and silent—open it and get on target without removing your hand from your rifle or fumbling with removable caps.

Yes. The semi-O-ring seal creates an air-tight barrier that keeps out moisture and dust. The cover is tested to extreme cold conditions and is designed specifically for reliable performance in harsh field environments.
