Bushnell
The Bushnell R7 4-20X50 FFP MRad Holdover is a first focal plane rifle scope built for hunters and long-range shooters who demand precision without compromise. This scope puts you in control with a 4-20X magnification range and 50mm objective lens—plenty of light gathering and versatility whether you're glassing at dawn or dialing in at distance. The first focal plane design means your reticle scales with magnification, so holdovers remain true at any power setting, a real advantage when you're working with a mil-based aiming system in the field or on the range.
Built on Bushnell's R7 platform, this scope is engineered for serious shooters. The MRad reticle and holdover system are made for tactical and long-range hunting applications where wind and distance require real-time calculation and confidence. Whether you're setting up for a precision rifle competition, a western hunt at elevation, or shooting steel past 500 yards, the first focal plane design keeps your holdovers honest across the entire zoom range. The 50mm bell gathers ambient light like few scopes in its class, giving you a bright image when conditions get marginal.
Bushnell scopes are field-tough and built to hold zero in conditions that would break lesser optics. If you're serious about long-range hunting or precision rifle work, the R7 delivers the optical clarity and reticle precision you need to execute when it counts.
| Magnification | 4-20X |
| Objective Lens | 50mm |
| Reticle Type | MRad Holdover (First Focal Plane) |
| Focal Plane | First Focal Plane (FFP) |
| Brand | Bushnell |
| Model | R7 |
In a first focal plane scope like this R7, the reticle is placed before the magnification lenses, so it scales with magnification. Your holdovers remain accurate at any power setting. This is ideal for long-range and tactical shooting where you're constantly adjusting zoom and need holdovers you can trust. Second focal plane scopes keep the reticle at a fixed size, so holdovers are only true at one specific magnification.
Yes. The 4-20X magnification range, 50mm objective, and MRad holdover system are purpose-built for long-range hunting. The first focal plane design ensures your holdovers work across the entire zoom range, a significant advantage when hunting at variable distances and conditions.
FFP stands for first focal plane. MRad refers to the reticle system, which uses milliradians—a unit of angular measurement commonly used in precision rifle and tactical shooting for calculating wind and distance corrections. This reticle style is designed for shooters who work with mil-based ballistics.
