Bushnell
The Bushnell Nitro 20-60x65mm spotting scope is a versatile optic built for hunters, precision shooters, and long-range observers who need serious magnification without breaking the bank. This angled-eyepiece design works equally well mounted on a tripod for glassing distant hillsides or seated at the bench for detailed target analysis. The gun metal gray finish is understated and functional—built to work, not to be pretty.
The real strength of this scope is its 20-60x zoom range paired with a 65mm objective lens. At 20x magnification you're pulling in a field of view of 1,110 feet at 1,000 yards—wide enough for scanning terrain or finding game. Crank up to 60x and you'll squeeze into details at extreme distances, though your field narrows to 50 feet at that magnification. The 65mm objective gathers plenty of light to keep images bright across that entire zoom range, especially in the early morning or late afternoon when hunting pressure is highest. Exit pupils span from 3.3mm at minimum magnification down to 1.1mm at maximum, giving you flexibility in how you use the scope depending on lighting conditions and your seating position.
Optically, this scope doesn't cut corners. ED Prime glass and fully multi-coated optics reduce color fringing and maximize light transmission. The ExoBarrier protective lens coating keeps the glass clean longer—a real advantage if you're glassing in dust or near water. Close focus is 42 feet, letting you stay dialed in even on closer subjects. At 55.2 ounces and 15.9 inches long, it's portable enough to pack into a spotting tower or truck cab without being cumbersome. IPX7 waterproofing means it'll handle rain and creek crossings. The twist-up eyecups adjust for comfortable eye relief at 18mm, and the included rotating tripod ring and sliding sunshade make setup fast.

Yes. The 20-60x zoom range and 65mm objective make it practical for glassing terrain to locate game and evaluating distance and conditions before the stalk. The angled eyepiece is comfortable during extended scanning sessions from a seated position.
The 65mm objective and multi-coated glass gather good light, but exit pupil size varies with magnification. At 20x, the 3.3mm exit pupil provides brighter images in dim conditions; at 60x, the 1.1mm exit pupil is narrower, so brightness drops. For early morning or evening glassing, you'll get the best results at lower magnifications.
The close focus distance is 42 feet, so you can observe objects relatively close to your position if needed, though spotting scopes are primarily designed for distant viewing.
