The Burris Scout Rifle Scope 2.75x20mm is a fixed-power optic purpose-built for scout rifle shooting and close-to-medium range work. If you're running a scout-configured rifle or fighting carbine and want a scope that gets out of the way while delivering the magnification you actually need, this 2.75x delivers. The forward-mounted design lets you mount it ahead of the ejection port for classic scout rifle eye relief and both-eyes-open shooting—exactly what makes a scout rifle a scout rifle. You'll stay faster on target and keep better situational awareness than you would with a traditional rear-mounted scope.

Weighing just 7 ounces and measuring 9.2 inches, this scope won't burden your rifle or slow you down in the field. The Heavy Plex reticle is uncluttered and proven—simple geometry that works for ranging and holdovers without overthinking it. Burris built this with a solid 1-inch tube and quality glass throughout: precision-ground lenses, Hi-Lume multicoating for low-light brightness, and a nitrogen-filled body to keep fog out when temperatures drop and conditions get wet. The turret adjustments are finger-accessible and low-profile, and the internal assemblies are hand-fitted to hold zero through recoil and carry.

This is a true working scope for hunters and shooters who understand what a scout rifle is meant to do—fast, effective shooting at practical distances without unnecessary complexity or bulk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this scope designed for scout rifle mounting?

Yes. The forward-mounted design allows placement in front of the ejection port for extended eye relief and both-eyes-open shooting—the hallmark of scout rifle optics. This gives you faster target acquisition and better situational awareness compared to traditional rear-mounted scopes.

What magnification is the Burris Scout scope, and is it enough for hunting?

This is a fixed 2.75x scope. At that power, it's designed for close-to-medium range shooting, which aligns with what scout rifles are built to do. The magnification is intentionally modest to keep the optic lightweight, maintain a wide field of view, and support both-eyes-open shooting.

What reticle does it use?

The Heavy Plex reticle is a classic, uncluttered design that provides holdover reference for longer shots without unnecessary complexity. It's proven and straightforward to use in the field.

Will this scope hold up to recoil from heavy-caliber rifles?

Yes. The scope features a solid 1-piece tube, double internal spring-tension system, hand-fitted assemblies, and steel-on-steel adjustments designed to withstand shock and vibration from even the heaviest-recoiling calibers and maintain a consistent point of impact.
