The Bulldog BD492 Tactical Shotgun Case is a purpose-built soft case designed to safely transport and store most pistol-grip and tactical shotguns. At 35 inches long, this water-resistant nylon case keeps your shotgun protected during transport to the range, field, or storage while maintaining a low-profile appearance. The tricot-lined interior resists scratches and prevents wear on your gun's finish, while the 1¾ inches of cushioning absorbs impacts and vibration. Whether you're heading out for a day of shooting or need secure storage at home, this case offers practical protection without bulk.

Practical touches throughout make this case a solid choice for hunters and tactical shooters. Two external pockets provide convenient storage for small gear, cleaning supplies, or range documents, while the integrated shell loops hold up to 12 rounds—keeping ammunition organized and accessible. A full-length heavy-duty zipper with a robust pull handle opens smoothly and closes securely, so you're not fumbling with a flimsy closure when you need to access your gun quickly. The black finish is durable and easy to maintain.

That said, soft cases trade the ultimate protection of hard cases for portability and packability. This isn't bombproof luggage, but it will handle transport, prevent scratches and dust, and keep your shotgun inconspicuous in a truck bed, closet, or range bag. For most shooters moving between home, range, and field—not dropping the case from a helicopter—it's a practical, no-nonsense solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my shotgun fit in this tactical case?

The case is 35 inches external. Most pistol-grip and tactical shotguns fit, but Bulldog recommends subtracting 2 inches from the external dimension when estimating your gun's fit—so plan for roughly a 33" usable interior length. Measure your shotgun, especially if it's equipped with a longer barrel or extended magazine tube.

What level of protection does this soft case offer?

The 1¾ inches of padding with tricot lining protects your gun from scratches, dust, and moisture during transport and storage. It's not impact-rated like a hard case, but it handles everyday handling, vehicle transport, and field use without trouble. Think of it as practical protection for moving between home, range, and hunting grounds.

How much ammunition can the shell loops hold?

The case has 12 integrated shell loops, each designed to hold one round. Two external pockets offer additional storage for gear, cleaning supplies, or documentation.

Is this case weather-resistant?

The exterior is water-resistant nylon, so it sheds moisture and light rain. It's not waterproof, so avoid dunking it or prolonged exposure to heavy downpours. For wet-weather use, it'll handle normal conditions without issue.
