The Bulldog BD4055L Magnum Top Load Vault with LED Keypad & Key Entry is a compact, dual-access firearm safe designed for quick-access storage in bedside tables, nightstands, and bedroom drawers. Built from heavy-duty steel with a black powder coat finish, this electronic gun vault combines the security of a digital keypad with traditional key-lock backup—giving you flexibility in how you control access to your firearms and valuables when it matters most.

The top-load design and modest footprint make it ideal for confined spaces where a full-size safe won't fit. The spring-loaded lid stays open once released, so you can access your gun one-handed in low-light conditions. An interior LED light activates automatically when you open the vault, and the backlit access buttons ensure you can punch your code accurately even in darkness. A separate power button controls the LED functions independently, and you can toggle between audible beep confirmation and silent mode depending on your preference.

Security is bolstered by the included heavy-duty steel cable, which lets you anchor the vault to a fixed object for added theft resistance. You get two physical keys as backup, so even if the batteries die, you're never locked out. A low-battery indicator alerts you before power runs too low. The interior is lined with egg-crate foam to cushion and protect firearms and other valuables from damage during storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this vault without batteries?

Yes. If your batteries are dead or depleted, you can access the vault using one of the two included keys. The electronic keypad will not function without power, but the mechanical key lock remains operational as a backup.

What should I store inside the BD4055L?

The vault is designed to hold firearms and valuables. The egg-crate foam interior protects stored items from shifts and damage. Always verify that your specific firearm fits before relying on the vault for storage and check local laws regarding firearm storage requirements.

How does the LED lighting work?

The vault has an interior light that turns on automatically when you open the lid, and four backlit access buttons on the keypad. A separate power button lets you control the LED lighting independent of vault entry, so you can use the backlit buttons without opening the safe.

Can I anchor this vault to prevent theft?

Yes. A heavy-duty steel security cable is included, allowing you to attach the vault to a fixed object such as a bed frame, dresser, or other furniture for added theft resistance.
