Buckeye Baits
The Buckeye Spot Remover is a 1/4oz jig head designed to give you a competitive edge when targeting spotted bass and other freshwater species. Built with a black nickel hook, this jig head excels at presenting soft plastics in a way that triggers strikes—whether you're working bedding fish in shallow cover or probing deeper structure where smallmouth and largemouth bass hunker down. The engineering allows craws and worms to stand vertically on the hook, creating a natural presentation that bass find hard to refuse.
What makes the Spot Remover stand out is its versatility across different water conditions and seasons. When bass are guarding beds, this jig head lets you drop a craw or soft plastic right in front of them with minimal disturbance. In deeper water, that vertical orientation keeps your bait in the strike zone longer, maximizing your chances on each cast. The black nickel finish blends seamlessly in stained or darker water, and the 1/4oz weight gives you enough mass for accurate casting without overwhelming lighter presentations.
Whether you're a dedicated spotted bass hunter or a generalist smallmouth angler looking to expand your jig head arsenal, the Buckeye Spot Remover fills a specific niche with solid construction and a design that works. Pair it with your favorite craws, finesse worms, or creature baits and fish it around grass, rocks, wood, and other cover where bass congregate.

Craws and soft plastic worms are the go-to choices for this jig head. The design allows them to stand upright and move naturally, which is especially effective when bass are actively feeding or defending territory.
Yes. While the Spot Remover is engineered with spotted bass in mind, it's equally effective on smallmouth and largemouth bass in a variety of depths and cover types.
A 1/4oz head works best in moderate depths and when you need precise, controllable presentations. If you're fishing very shallow or very deep, you may want to consider different weights from the Buckeye lineup.
